Can I withdraw Euro banknotes for use in Russia or Belarus?

European Union sanctions prohibit the sale, supply, transfer or export of banknotes of any official currency of its Member States (for example, EUR) to Russia or Belarus or to any natural or legal person, entity or body in Russia or Belarus. The only exception is if the customer requires these banknotes for personal use while travelling to Russia or Belarus or for members of their immediate families travelling with them. The exception cannot be used for commercial purposes or for commercial interests. Furthermore, the exception cannot be used to give cash to acquaintances, friends or parents, because the exception is limited to those travelling.
