How can I choose to process a payment as an instant payment?

Every time a payment is available as an instant payment, the bank will automatically send it as an instant payment. If it is technically impossible, the payment will be made as a normal SEPA transfer as long as the client hasn’t indicated anything different. For EUR payments to be made instantly, they must comply with the following:

  • must be submitted electronically: through the online bank or app;
  • payment sum must be less than 15 000 EUR for private person and less then 100 000 EUR for legal person;
  • recipient bank must be part of the instant payment system.

Payment is made automatically and requires no additional actions on the part of the payer and recipient banks. The terms of receiving and sending instant payments may differ in each bank, so payments can sometimes not be made as an instant payment for reasons beyond Citadele’s control.
